Material Transparency

We believe you should know exactly what you're wearing — before you ask.

Core Materials

What our pieces are made from.

quaestvein is built around materials with surface, weight, and trace — oxidized sterling silver, natural turquoise when used, and accents that are named clearly.

Oxidized Sterling Silver

We use S925 sterling silver with an oxidized finish to bring out depth, grooves, and the kind of surface that does not look new on purpose.

Natural Turquoise — When It's There

When a piece contains turquoise, we say so clearly. Natural turquoise can vary in matrix, color, and surface — that variation is part of its identity.

Why oxidized?

“The darkened patina isn't a flaw — it's the character.”

Polished silver

Polished silver reflects. Oxidized silver holds shadow. We choose the darker surface because it makes grooves, edges, and hand-finished texture visible. It gives the piece weight before you even touch it.

Why stabilized?

“Stabilization lets the wild stay wild, and still survive your Tuesday.”

Turquoise in quaestvein pieces

Some natural turquoise is stabilized to improve durability for daily wear. Stabilization does not make it synthetic turquoise; it helps a naturally porous stone hold together better in a finished piece.

Accents & Verification

Named materials. Verified when needed.

Cinnabar & Other Accents

Accent materials are part of the visual language, but they are not hidden. When a piece uses cinnabar, zirconia, shell, or another accent, the product page should say it directly.

Third-Party Verified

For selected pieces and materials, we use independent material authentication to confirm what the stone is — not just what it looks like.

Our Promise

No pretending.

We do not make material claims vague on purpose. A stone should not have to hide behind a prettier name.

  • No synthetic turquoise.
  • No dyed howlite pretending to be turquoise.
  • No plated base metal.
If it's in a quaestvein piece, it's real — and we'll tell you exactly what it is.
