Prongs exist to expose the stone — more light, more sparkle. But black zirconia is not meant to sparkle, it is meant to sink. A crown bezel does not display the stone, it secures it — the setting rises around it like it is giving the stone a position, not a stage. Prongs let the stone float. The crown makes it sit.
Black onyx is a natural stone — matte, uniform, quietly dark. Black zirconia is faceted — it has cut surfaces that catch light not in a scattered sparkle, but in a tight, contained flash. When you are still, it reads as a dark point. When you turn, a facet grabs light for a split second and lets go. That rhythm — a flash then nothing — is something onyx cannot do.
Both. The rope texture runs along the bezel edge, turning a smooth metal band into something with rhythm and grit. Structurally it adds thickness and grip — it is not a decorative ring glued onto the bezel, it is the texture of the bezel itself. After oxidation, the grooves deepen. The rope goes from “pattern” to “trace.”
It is dark. But dark is the choice, not the problem. Most silver-with-black-stone pieces go polished — using the metal’s shine to “save” the stone’s darkness. Crown Studs do the opposite: oxidized silver and black zirconia are the same frequency of dark. No rescue, no brightening, no compromise. The darkness has layers — grey-brown oxidized silver, deep rope grooves, and the occasional flash of a zirconia facet.

S925 silver naturally develops surface character over time. The oxidized finish is part of the design, so avoid aggressive polishing cloths on the darkened grooves.
Keep away from perfume, chlorine, alcohol-based products, and prolonged moisture. After wearing, wipe gently with a soft dry cloth and store separately to reduce scratches.
The screw-on post is designed for a secure fit. Tighten gently until stable — do not force it past resistance.
The oxidized finish may vary slightly from piece to piece. That variation is expected and gives each stud its own worn-in surface.
